The Toolkit for Technical Analysis of Stocks (T-TAS) is developed under MATLAB (Version 6.5 and above). It utilizes the GUI resources of MATLAB and provides a user-friendly graphical interface. Unlike the old version with limited graphic capacity, the new toolkit is an easy to use yet powerful kit that can be used for performing necessary technical analysis of the stock markets or financial markets in general. It provides an intuitive and simple interface which allows the user to carry out analysis of various trading rules without the need of in-depth programming or chart reading skills, although a basic understanding of the technical analysis is preferred. Frequently asked questions are provided with its online help function.

T-TAS has been engineered to provide the most advanced functionalities in their simplest form: Programming and analyzing trade rules can be a painful and tedious process, but with T-TAS it is just a button click away. It is linked to historic as well as live prices, providing a comprehensive and updated database of stock price data, thus ensuring that analysis is timely and relevant to current market trends. All indicators provided in the T-TAS package have fully customizable parameters which allows for greater flexibility while carrying out analysis.

T-TAS has been fully tested and worked well for counters except warrants listed on Singapore Exchange (SGX), Hong Kong Exchange (HKEx), NYSE and NASDAQ. The toolkit should work for markets in Australia, Indonesia, India, China and almost all markets worldwide. For SGX counter, the toolkit is capable of refreshing data in real time while for other markets users might experience a delay of few minutes.

The initial version of the toolkit was a result of a final year project conducted by Songyi Chen under the supervision of Professor Ben M. Chen at National University of Singapore in the academic year of 2006-2007. The current version, significantly enhanced by Ben M. Chen and a graduate student, Xiaolian Zheng, has many new features added.
